There are a wide variety of problems with the current online dating sites, issues that at Honest Dating we have tried to resolve.

1. Some sites expect members to sign up "blind", with no preview of the type of profiles and users they will get to see on the site.

2. On some sites, some profiles are not actually real people, but so called "bait" profiles, put there by the site owners to attract new subscribing members. Some sites have received several complaints of this tactic. Some users even spam sites with "fake" profiles that are in reality advertisements to other services.

At Honest Dating all of our profiles are real people who are looking for friendship, love or just a chat. We have implemented a security system on the registration page, so that users cannot spam the site with fake profiles.

3. A majority of current dating sites keep profiles online for months, even years after the last time the person has logged in, thereby making it seem as though they have more available members than they actually do. Many sites offer the option to sort search results based on activity.

At honest dating we de-activate a users profile 1 month after their subscription has expired and there hasn’t been any activity on the account.

4. One most of the sites, members are enticed to join dating websites with FREE MEMBERSHIP or low-priced "trial" periods advertised on many other websites. These trial memberships, more-than-not, lack many of the features of the full membership the sites offer, including the ability to contact other members or reply to messages from other members.

At Honest Dating we allow you to use all the features of the site in the free trial period. If you meet the man/woman of your dreams in that trial period, we know we have done our job, the site is about users and not profits.

5. On most online dating sites you are required to enter credit card information to join at all, these trial memberships often automatically become full memberships at the end of the trial period and charge the full monthly subscription fee, without any additional input or action from the member and regardless of whether the member has actually used the services or not. For full paying members, it is often unclear whether a potential datee has a full subscription and whether he or she will be able to reply at all.

At Honest Dating, we show whether the user has full membership or are still on their free trial.

6. Some members have expressed extreme concern about the billing practices of certain dating sites. In some cases, the trial memberships that were cancelled within the trial period were automatically re-billed even after cancelling.

At Honest Dating we only charge your credit card on the day you signup or upgrade your membership and at no other time.

7. Even when members profiles are "real", there is still a lack of trust with other members. Many members misrepresent themselves by telling flattering little white lies about their height, age and weight, or using old and misleading photos. Members can, of course, ask for an up-to-date photograph before meeting others.
